Mark the locations of the 4 holes for the sleeve anchors on the foundation of the house and drill 4—1/2” holes.
Using a level, attach the M5000 to the foundation of the house using the 4 provided sleeve anchors.
Cut a 6x6 post to the required height and notch out the top of post for the 10” double ledger board.
There are 2 methods to use the M5000 properly. Please see the 2 different methods for using the M5000 below
Using a double 10” ledger, use a carriage bolt and go through the veneer and rim joist of the house. Use a washer and nut on the inside of the house to fasten the ledger board. Use sleeve anchors to bolt the M5000 to the foundation. Once everything is bolted properly and attached to one another, the bolts that are holding the ledger board in place will act as the lateral support. The M5000 will act at the shear weight supporter.
Use 6” sleeve anchors to attached the M5000 to the foundation of the house. Install front and side lateral supports on the front beam/post assembly. (Please make sure you follow the correct building code requirements when installing our lateral supports.)
Calculation for required brackets on new constructed decks
A / 2 × B × Load = Load on Ledger Board
Recommend spacing for the M5000 is every 8’ with 10” double ledger boards.
